A Fresh Picsquare

with 10 comments

It’s official now.. YES!! Finally the new version of Picsquare is out.. The team is still on their job.. nonstop.. since last 30 hours :) It’s been quite regular since last couple of weeks.. but we are loving it.. We have launched new version of Picsquare today.. YES!! Finally the new version is out..

After numerous night-outs, days-in, discussions, fightings regarding features, UI, flow, messaging, color etc. we are finally ready to release Picsquare 4.0. A special credit to Kartik, Pankaj, Sanjay, Ashok and Dhayan, without their dedicated effort this wouldn’t have been possible. Also special thanks to all Picsquare users who have been sharing their feedback regarding their experience on Picsquare website. We have tried to incorporate all of those feedbacks in this new version:

  • New UI with enhanced user interaction flow.
  • Faster navigation, atleast that’s what our initial tests have suggested
  • Albums for better management of photographs. Lot of you have requested for this feature

I must say it has been fun working with this team especially the pizzas and beer before the night-outs. Here are some pics:

Now, back to work to make sure everything is working fine. We had to do lot of data migration for porting the previous data into new architecture. Don’t, our team has done everything possible to make sure nothing is going wrong. Still if you face any issue please do write to us at service@picsquare.com.

We will now be working on set of new exciting products and features, which we will be launching over next couple of weeks. If you have any suggestions for new features, please do mail us.

  7. Couple of suggestions to improve the performance further. May be you know this already, but just in case.

    - Minify the JS (You can use YUI Minifier)
    - GZip the CSS and JS files

  8. Hi Vijay,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, currently we do not minify js but will be doing it once this UI version stabilizes a bit (in a week or so more – just wanted to stress on certain other issues before this :D ); although we do gzip the components at the server !

There are a lot of other things that we are currently doing to improve performance and scalability, so you will see a faster response from our servers soon :)

Thanks for your feedback. Do keep providing us with your valuable feedback and suggestions.

    See you soon again !

  9. I really liked the older version of picsquare this version is very slow also the photo uploader does uploads all the photos in one go and you have to do two three iterations.

Also now you don’t get option to choose Matt or Gloss, which is very bad. Another thing I placed the order on 18th and today is 20th the order is still shown in processing i.e. its still not couriered.
