Picsquare Introducing Personal Photo Site Concept

Few days back, I updated you about Picsquare reaching 1 million photographs and 50,000 users. To continue our effort to provide best value in online photography to Indian users we are launching a new feature - http://mysite.picsquare.com. The new feature – Personal Photo Site, will allow users to create their own photo website and could be described as blogs for photographs.

A brief snapshot about the feature:

Personal photo site is a different way of sharing personal photos, allowing people to share photos in their own way. Some of the main features are:

  • Personalized domain name like http://manish.picsquare.com
  • Theme selection, variety of theme option available like weddings, vacation, birthday, family etc.
  • Customized home page
  • Permission control, user can make his site accessible to anyone or decide who can get access

The photo site concept could be very helpful in managing and sharing photographs where group is involved for example:

  • Creating family photo site, allowing all family members to contribute and creating a common of photographs
  • Photo site for wedding, allowing newly wed couple to share their wedding photographs in their own customized way
  • Group events like conferences, college fest, corporate outings, team lunch etc.

It can also act as a platform for individuals, photographers, artists etc., to show their work of art. In future, they can also make money by selling their work through their photo site.

We did a pilot launch over the period of last 2-3 weeks and we are excited about the fact that within short duration we have 2,000+ photo sites created with good feedback. Here is a direct quote from one user who has created a photo site: β€œI just created a personal site. It is exactly the same which I wanted just before my marriage to create something like this with some ethnic flavour. Loved it” – Sumit Jha,

Instead of talking more about the feature, I would appreciate if you could explore the feature and give us your best judgment, which will help us in improving it further.

We look forward to hear from you

Manish
